Gonna say goodbye to my gorgeous campus for about six weeks! 

Yesterday was the last day of school with the students! This year I had an amazing group of students and parents and I will miss all of them so much.  Thankfully, I will be returning to Venezuela and all of my students from this year are also supposed to return so I should be able to see them in August when school is back in session.

Today a few of us teachers are at school doing cumulative folders, organizing computer files, and some people are still packing up (thankfully my class loves to help so my classroom is all packed up and ready for check-out).  Of course, when I first arrived today the power was out AND the generator was offline so I couldn’t do any of the things I had planned.  Instead, I did a little family photo shoot for my friends and their toddler.

Our campus is gorgeous and it is one of a very select group of locations that I am willing to bring out my DSLR to take photos.  I can’t wait to see how they turned out, but I am super excited about some shots that I got on our nature trail and early-childhood playground.  They suggested that I start a little family photo side-business.

After checking out tomorrow, I will have one more salsa class in Valencia (until I return in August).  I hope they let me continue with the same group when I get back!

Then I will leave for the Caracas airport at 5:30AM… for my 2PM flight.  The locals say that this is the perfect amount of time in case there is a lot of traffic, a traffic accident, or long lines at the airport.  I will be bringing snacks, fully charged devices, and an external battery to keep me entertained.  I only wish I weren’t flying by myself so I don’t appear to be a rich gringa in one of the most dangerous airports in the world. Sigh.
