I would love to work at a school where I can escape to a place like this every weekend! I took this in Morrocoy, Venezuela
One of my Top 10 Dream schools to work at is the Green School Bali. Of course I want to live in Bali, but I am also passionate about “green education”. Maybe it is because I grew up in Portland, but issues of recycling, gardening, and sustainability have always been on my mind.
Some schools known for their “green” slant:
The Green School Bali: http://www.greenschool.org/ in Indonesia
The Cuixmala School: http://www.cuixmalaschool.com/ in Mexico
The Cloud Forest School: http://cloudforestschool.org/ in Costa Rica
The Panyaden School: http://www.panyaden.ac.th/ in Thailand
Robert Muller LIFE School: http://www.lifeschoolweb.com/ in Guatemala
Tulum International School: https://www.facebook.com/TulumInternationalSchool Mexico
Here is a growing list of alternative schools: http://www.educationrevolution.org/store/findaschool/memberschools/
I would love to work at any of these schools, but…. From what I gather, these schools pay considerably less than most international schools. In about ten years, when I’ve paid off my student loans (only if I can stick to my very accelerated pay schedule) I might be able to afford working at one of them.
